Climate change risk perception and propensity to act
Adapting to climate change is the greatest challenge humanity is facing today. Natural and human environments currently are impacted via urban air pollution, water scarcity, land degradation, habitat and biodiversity loss, and extreme weather events. In southern France, climate change has been directly linked to recent flooding and is projected to increase the future frequency of storms and heatwaves. Understanding how citizens perceive and psychologically adapt to climate change risks is of great importance to developing a coherent and informed strategy to reduce carbon emissions and greater climate resilience.
The current workshop will unite the researchers from multiple disciplines studying climate change risk perception and adaptation. Researchers from environmental sciences, sociology, psychology, economics and marketing will present their work in the grand attempt of cross-fertilisation across multiple fields of study.
