The board is made up of 16 directors of well-known luxury companies and our American partner, NC State University.
Luxury companies (Chanel, Hermès, L’Oréal Luxe, Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Le Meurice, Lanson BBC, Rolex, AirPlus International and Baccarat) met with Jonas Hoffmann (SKEMA professor, expert and author of several books on the sector), the media (Le Figaro) and heads of BtoB service companies in the sector (Dymant.com, Luxurynsight).
The board’s role is to enable these directors to share their ideas and vision of the luxury industry and what the required talents required in the sector are. The Board also act as mentors advising students on careers and enabling them to benefit from their experience and their own networks.
Michaela Merk, director of the Global Luxury master explained: "To match the requirements of luxury companies and prepare students for tomorrow’s challenges, it is essential to work closely with the industry. It is with immense pleasure that we gather this new Advisory Board for the dual degree Global Luxury and Management, in partnership with North Carolina State University. A big thank you to all the directors and decision makers who have generously got involved in the success of this programme and its graduates. This unique programme prepares future talents to tackle the many challenges in the luxury sector. We would especially like to thank Christophe Chopineau, adjunct director general of the Hotel Meurice, and committee member who has welcomed us to this prestigious location, as well Patrice Houdayer, director of programmes, international development and student life at SKEMA, for his presentation of our school."
