Students visit EU institutions in Brussels

Published on 13 March 2017

22 February, 28 SKEMA students in their final Master in Management year (M2) of the double degree in European Business Law, with their professor Isabelle Bufflier (law professor head of the double degree awarded jointly with the Université du Littoral Côte d'Opale - ULCO) spent a day in Brussels visiting European institutions.

They were welcomed by Cédric Grolleau, Brussels lobbyist who had prepared their visit and stayed with them for the whole day. In the morning, they visited the Council of the European Union where a member of staff explained the legislative process.

The afternoon was spent at the “Parlamentarium” (the European parliament for visitors) with simulation – the students were divided into four groups and had to adopt directives through discussions in the commission with lobbyists and the press.

The day ended with a dynamic talk by a member of the BEUC, a European consumer association that is very active in pro-consumer lobbying
