Suzhou campus kicks off with the pre-intake week

Published on 06 September 2016

Monday August 22, SKEMA’s China campus in Suzhou organised a pre-intake week for 50 ESDHEM and Chinese Two-Year MSc students including the first students of the joint SKEMA-USTC programme.

On the timetable for this week: language courses (English, Mandarin), visits (SIP Exhibition Tour ...), practical info and help (housing ...), course on techniques and teaching tools and learning skills at SKEMA.

The purpose of the pre-intake week is to get students up to speed and at ease with the upcoming academic efforts.

This is the first time this pre-intake week has been held in Suzhou, with the aim of mixing Chinese and French students (ESDHEM), allowing them to take courses together, getting to know each other by sharing activities in Franco-Chinese teams (petanque tournament, preparing a Chinese meal ...), to overcome the culture shock of their arrival and the best start to an unforgettable semester at SKEMA in Suzhou.

And the week after, Tuesday, August 30, the Suzhou campus received a total of 203 students from seven different programs (including BBA, ESDHEM, Master in Management, MSc Luxury & Fashion Management, MSc Entrepreneurship & Innovation, MSc International Business, Two-Year MSc) for the orientation week. These students, from France, China, Germany, Morocco, Russia, etc. experienced an exciting week watching traditional performances, discovering Chinese food, performing fun activities and much more.
