Succeeding at SKEMA: a tailor-made programme for high-performance athletes

Excellence is a core value at SKEMA, embedded in our DNA, and has been reflected for many years in the inclusion of high-level athletes (Sportifs de Haut Niveau - SHN) in our various programmes. This long-standing choice is based on our belief that high-level athletes are high-potential individuals with unique needs and require a different time frame. Organisational flexibility and agility are two key elements in enabling them to succeed.

We know that through their high-level sporting experiences, these students develop unique skills that are extremely valuable to companies. By adapting their programme and personalising their academic pathway, the school enables athletes to manage their dual projects successfully: a sporting career and a high-level professional career.

Flexible timetables and study durations, digitised courses, tutoring and support classes, and bonus points in competitive exams are just some of the ways we tailor our programmes to support athletes.

  • SKEMA stands out by providing high-performance athletes the chance to customise their education across its range of programmes:

    Students are not required to follow a ‘specific pathway’ but are free to choose their course and specialisation.

  • Flexibility

    • Flexibility and extension of the duration of studies.
    • Adjustment of the timetable to accommodate sporting commitments.
    • Adjustment of exams (continuous assessment, final assessment).

    Tutoring

    • Access to course materials/educational platform.
    • Tutoring and monitoring by the SHN advisor.
    • Support provided if necessary.

    Help and support

    • Career guidance and professional integration assistance.
    • Financial assistance: sports merit scholarships that can be renewed every year.
    • Assistance with accommodation via our online housing platform: offers of student residences, flats or shared accommodation, contact details for landlords.
    • Free access to sports facilities on campus.
    • Coverage of participation fees for various university competitions.

Ministerial eligibility criteria for high-level athletes in higher education:

A ‘High-Level School Athlete’ (Sportif de haut niveau Ecole - SHNE) status may be granted on an exceptional basis to athletes who are not listed after review of their athletic programme (including promising athletes and athletes in national teams), if the programme has sufficient national or even international scope. This SHNE status will allow for adjustments to the student's academic schedule and is only valid within the school.

The aim of these provisions is to enable students to successfully combine their training programme at our School with their sporting discipline in accordance with the latest ministerial guidelines and the agreements signed by the Conférence des Grandes Écoles.

Global BBA - Bachelor in Management

The Global BBA - Bachelor in Management programme is a 4-year degree programme. It takes place over 4 years and is taught 100% in English.
