The Rise: A positive social impact challenge

Published on 07 December 2020

This year, our HOPE and Enactus student societies represented SKEMA in The Rise student challenge, organised by Babyloan.

The Rise is a positive social impact challenge in which student societies and students support the projects of micro-entrepreneurs around the world by raising funds. These funds are micro-credit loans and not donations, which are repaid in 95% of cases.

The event was held on December 1 and 2 on. SKEMA's contributions were the tenth most important contributions in this challenge.

Arnaud Poissonnier, the founder of Babyloan explains: " In 2008, Babyloan embarked on an incredible adventure: launching the first European humanitarian microcredit website. The result? Nearly 50,000 families financed in 12 years, a tremendous social impact. It is on the strength of our experience and know-how that we are now launching the Babyloan Impact website. A brand new site that will allow those who wish to put their savings in the right place to combine performance and social impact. Our objective with this second site is simple: to multiply our social impact in developing countries tenfold, with all of you.
