Strategy, Innovation & EntrepreneurshipI am a Professor of Strategy at SKEMA Business School based in Paris, France. Further, I am one of the directors for SKEMA's Global Doctor in Business Administration Programme in Sustainability. I also hold a permanent visiting professor position at University of Johannesburg, SZ and an adjunct professor position at CVFG French Vietnamese School of Management, Vietnam. Beside these positions, I currently serve as Associate Editor for the European Management Journal.
Previously, I was an Associate Professor of Strategy and Leadership at ESCP Business School's London campus, UK, and the Academic Director of the MBA in International Management in London. I joined ESCP from the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, Italy, where I worked as Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Prior to this, I have been engaged as Assistant Professor of HRM and Organizational Behavior at the Otto-Friedrich University of Bamberg, Germany.
Beside faculty positions, I served as research manager for the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) which is part of the German Federal Employment Agency in Nuremberg, Germany. In this position, I was in charge of managing several change projects as well as research and management-related projects. I started my academic career as Research Associate at the Fraunhofer-Institute of Industrial Engineering, Stuttgart, Germany, and the Institute of Human Factors and Technology Management at the University of Stuttgart, Germany. During this time, I pursued my doctoral studies.
My non-academic career is very diverse. In the past, I for instance worked as IT consultant for SAP solutions in the health care area. Further, I am a certified Black Jack dealer and worked several years at the Spielbank Hamburg, Germany, during the first years at the Intercontinental Hotel and later on the Spielbank Reeperbahn. I also completed a 4-year vocational training in special needs care and worked in different care homes for people with multiple special needs. My responsibility was the support of people within day-to-day settings including medical and pedagogical/psychological assistance.
My research interests exceed the boundaries of business studies. At the moment, my research centres on entrepreneurship, strategy and small businesses with a particular interest on methodological questions. Beside these topics, I am also interested in ethical questions of doing business, sustainability, and diversity. For more information klick to the next page (Research).
My teaching experiences during the last decades has truly been an international and very diverse one, and I believe there barely is any nationality I do not have classroom experience with.
