Major conference on sustainability planned in 2024 by the SKEMA Centre for Sustainability Studies
The "SKEMA Centre for Sustainability Studies" research centre, led by Professor Eva Niesten, is organising the GRONEN 2024 conference on "Mainstreaming Sustainability?". This research conference will take place from 27 to 30 May 2024 at SKEMA Business School’s Grand Paris campus. It will bring together 125 of the leading researchers in the field of sustainability from international and French business schools.
Initiated by the SKEMA Centre for Sustainability Studies and led by Eva Niesten, professor of strategy and sustainability, GRONEN 2024 will address the theme of "mainstreaming" or the scaling up of sustainability in the world of business, society, and the environment. Among other topics, the discussions will cover the long-term impact of sustainability on businesses, ESG criteria in the financial world, and the various areas in which sustainability needs to be considered, going beyond the grand challenge of climate change.
“No one denies the importance of sustainability but many need to be convinced of its necessity. The SKEMA Centre for Sustainability Studies is pleased to host the Gronen 2024 Conference and its community of word-leading scholars in the field of organisations and the natural environment. It underlines SKEMA's strong commitment to sustainability in research, teaching and operations," said professor Niesten.
The conference will combine various session formats to facilitate academic exchanges at different stages of research. It will offer an opportunity to reflect on the promises and pitfalls of mainstreaming sustainability while providing networking opportunities to the researchers in attendance.
