SKEMA students attend major finance event in Germany
At the initiative of the SKEMA Finance association, students from the three French campuses of SKEMA Business School travelled to Koblenz, Germany, to attend Campus for Finance, a major event organised by their counterparts from the WHU (Otto Beisheim School of Management). There, the students attended lectures, round tables, and met with leaders of major European financial organisations.
Organised for the past twenty years by the students of the WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management, Campus for Finance is an event that brings together several major companies in the world of finance and students from several European management schools.
This year, a delegation from SKEMA Finance, the school's student association dedicated to finance, attended the conferences, which were organised on highly topical themes. "We got the opportunity to hear presentations on investment in times of crisis, CSR and green finance, the future of investment and leadership in times of crisis," explains Victor Charpignon, a Master in Management (PGE) student, in the ECA track.
Meetings with business leaders
In addition to the informational aspect promised by Campus for Finance through the conferences and round tables, this event help students get their first taste of the world of finance and exchange ideas informally with the pundits of the sector, thanks to a "Career fair".
There, they met Jans Meckel (managing director, Goldman Sachs), Oliver Behrens (CEO, Morgan Stanley Europe), Jörg Beissel (CFO, Lufthansa), and members of the Big Four or large firms specialising in mergers and acquisitions. "Campus for Finance was an enriching experience, with conferences on a variety of current financial topics by expert speakers. The career fair enabled me to get to know the partner companies better. I came away from this event with a stronger network and a better understanding of future financial issues," says Louise Talleux, a student in the ESDHEM sandwich course.
