SKYTEK: a new student association on the Grand Paris campus
Officially created last December, the SKYTEK association wants to introduce students to new technologies through one-off events. The next event will take place on 17 February.
A new member at the Grand Paris campus, the SKYTEK association is run by students with a keen interest in the world of technology and its implications on the professional world. On 17 February, SKYTEK is organising a virtual reality-focused event. "Our goal is for students to become aware of the possibilities offered by virtual reality, particularly in the field of management," explains Yassine Slimane, an L3 student in the Master in Management (PGE) programme and president of SKYTEK.
VR headsets will be available for the participants throughout day, thanks to a partnership with Tkorp, a digital startup specialised in virtual reality created in 2016. "Immersive activities and serious games will be downloaded onto the headsets so that users can experience working together. They will get to play as firefighters and put out a fire," says Tancrède Peyronne.
A conference to finish the day
In conjunction with the PourParlers association, SKYTEK will organise a debate on virtual reality, which will be broadcast on social media. "The management of the future and the metaverse will be among the themes discussed," emphasises Yassine Slimane. Retail VR, a company specialising in virtual store creation, has been invited to the debate.
