SKEMA announces a new campus in the United Arab Emirates; decides not to acquire FIDM in Los Angeles

SKEMA Business School is beginning a new chapter in its international history with the imminent opening (September 2024) of a new campus in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, while the school has chosen not to acquire the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) in the United States because several material conditions have not been met.

A ne​w campus at the crossroads of the world

 

The new Dubai campus will be located in the prestigious Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC). This business district, which is committed to excellence and openness, is located at the crossroads of the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia, and promises a rich and diversified experience for students of more than of 130 nationalities already present within the school. “We have found in Dubai the spirit of innovation and excellence which guides us in choosing each of our locations. Our campus in Dubai will become the focal point for students from across the world, particularly those from the Middle East, Africa, and the Indo-Pacific region. Eventually, this campus will be able to accommodate 2,000 students," explains Alice Guilhon, dean and executive president of SKEMA.

 

Open to students from th​e 2024 academic year

 

From September 2024, SKEMA will offer four programmes in Dubai: Global BBA​, Master in Management (PGE)​, MSc in International Business, and MSc in Sustainable Finance and Fintech​. This portfolio of programmes will be quickly supplemented by other master's level programmes. Thanks to a strategic agreement with the DIFC Academy and the University Leadership Council, SKEMA has the privilege of establishing itself in a dynamic and promising ecosystem in terms of innovation. 

In 2024, DIFC is the economic heart of Dubai and welcomes more than 36,000 professionals of more than 4,300 companies. The Dubai campus in the United Arab Emirates will enable SKEMA to have strategic presence in 7 countries across the world. With the goal of welcoming 2,000 students and expanding its range of programmes, SKEMA is committed to cultivating an environment where students can thrive in a multicultural context and acquire essential transversal skills.​
