Professor Lasmoles receives the Olivier Debouzy prize for his latest book
Olivier Lasmoles, a law professor and director of the ESDHEM programme at SKEMA Business School, has been honoured with the 12th Olivier Debouzy Award 2023. This award, jointly bestowed by the Club des juristes and the law firm August Debouzy, follows the publication of Olivier Lasmoles' latest work titled "Le droit pénal fait son cinéma" (Criminal law at the cinema).
The Olivier Debouzy Award 2023 ceremony took place on 8 June in front of 200 lawyers, academics, and students. The award, which honours the name of a daring and sometimes provocative personality in the legal field, aims to celebrate each year an atypical, creative, or subversive legal work. This year, the jury was chaired by Nicolas Bavarez, a partner at August Debouzy.
Eminent figures on the jury
The jury included of several renowned personalities from the legal field, including Pierre Chevalier (legal director of the Caisse des Dépôts), Nicole Belloubet (former Keeper of the Seals and president of the Club des jurists), Julie Klein (professor of École de droit de Sciences Po), Jean-Baptiste Parlos (president of Cour d'appel de Rennes), Mathias Fekl (former Interior Minister), Michel Dobkine (secretary general of the Havas Group), Catherine Pautrat (first president of Cour d'appel de Lyon), and Mélanie Thill-Tayara (a lawyer at the Dechert firm). Olivier Lasmoles' work " Le droit pénal fait son cinéma" is recognised by the industry for its original and innovative approach, highlighting his creative spirit and the quality of his work.
