SKEMA China joins Xiaohongshu and WeChat Channels to expand its reach among the youth

The launch of SKEMA China on the lifestyle social media platform Xiaohongshu and the short video platform WeChat Channels this year enlarged the school’s social media family, which included WeChat, Sina Weibo, and Bilibili.

This move will boost SKEMA Business School's exposure among Chinese audiences. It is beneficial to the school's local branding and interactions with students, especially Generation Z, which is very active on social media.

"Led by the ambitious SKY25 strategic plan, SKEMA China vows to strengthen its position as an impactful player, and so do our social media networks. SKEMA China has one of the most significant social media presence among the international business schools in China through its diverse channels," said Matthieu Dumont, director of the Suzhou campus.

Compared to the WeChat account that focuses on text and images, WeChat Channels, launched in May, is used for sharing SKEMA's short video clips and supporting livestreaming services to meet the business development needs of different departments.

"To achieve better communication and engagement with audiences"

On the video channel, the school has released 28 clips (with one of them obtaining about 21,000 views) and livestreamed 5 events, including the graduation ceremony in the first half of the year.

The account on Xiaohongshu (a platform similar to Instagram and Pinterest) was launched in August, and has attracted more than 540 followers with 78 posts about alumnus, students' life, global campuses, etc.

The school now interacts more frequently with the young users of these application, thus hearing the voices of the youth and strengthening its influence among them.

"We run the two new platforms in tandem with the changing social media landscape in China. To achieve better communication and engagement with audiences, we need to follow the trends and innovate," said Jing Mo, the marketing and communications coordinator at the Suzhou campus.

We invite you to subscribe to our WeChat Channels and Xiaohongshu accounts, and share them with your networks.
