‘I found my internships through Talent & Careers’: Charlotte, PGE student

Charlotte Bouverot, an M1 student in the Master in Management (PGE) programme, is doing an internship in the field of digital marketing and e-commerce for the Sonia Rykiel brand. In this interview, she discusses her career path.

Charlotte, can you tell us about your educational background?

I completed an economics and commercial preparatory class at the Lycée Notre Dame des Minimes in Lyon. Following the preparatory class is psychologically hard, as we are pushed to the limit by our teachers, but I find that the work method we acquire during these years helps us in business. We know how to prioritise tasks and we can deal more easily with the stress that we sometimes encounter in our professional assignments.

You are currently working for a big name in fashion, Sonia Rykiel. Can you tell us about your missions within this company?

At the moment, I am involved in the management of the brand's website, which, for an intern, represents a lot of responsibility. I have different tasks: web-mastering, data entry, creation of landing pages and writing product sheets. My job is to improve the conversion rate from the website. Indeed, I take part in its optimisation through daily tasks but also through the development of new projects. I work with freelancers to implement SEO strategies and with other departments such as communications and the New York office.

I'm delighted with this, as I'm passionate about the world of luxury and want to move into the web marketing and digital professions after my studies at SKEMA. I see myself managing a digital team or setting up my own company in this sector, although I'm not closing any doors. It's a job with a future, which corresponds to my professional aspirations in the fashion industry.

Before joining Sonia Rykiel, I worked for Vilebrequin, a French brand specialising in luxury swimwear and ready-to-wear for men and women, where I was in charge of managing customer relations via the brand's newsletters and blog.

How did you find these two internships?

I found these internships thanks to SKEMA Talent & Careers Hub – the platform that features internship and job offers reserved for SKEMA students. I found my internship at Vilebrequin in Geneva through this channel. As my first internship went very well at this brand, I was offered to stay at G-III Apparel Group and work at Sonia Rykiel!

How do you see your future studies at SKEMA?

In January 2023, I will study on the Belo Horizonte campus. I would then like to do the MSc Global Luxury and Management or the !
