Suzhou: Professor Yujie Cai co-chairs conference at University of Birmingham
Professor Yujie Cai, a specialist in human resource management, was invited by the Association of British Chinese Professors (ABCP) to participate in its annual conference as part of a hybrid format cross-disciplinary research forum in England.
As an independent, non-profit organisation, the ABCP is dedicated to academic cooperation between China and the UK. In this context, Professor Yujie Cai, associate professor at the Suzhou campus, co-chaired the cross-disciplinary research forum. This was an apt choice, as Yujie Cai specialises in cross-disciplinary research and organises the "Frontiers in Multidisciplinary Research" seminars at SKEMA.
Chinese, British and American universities
Several international researchers responded to the ABCP's request to give several talks at this high-level international academic meeting. They included professors from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Bournemouth University, Leeds University, Montfort University and Harvard University.
Professor Cai presented his work on the coal industry
At the forum, Yujie Cai presented his work on "The impact of human factors in coal mine accidents in China". "This study will help coal mining companies to improve their working methods and above all reduce accidents caused by inadequate safety arrangements. My work should also help to promote the sustainable development of this industry and strengthen the social responsibility of coal mining companies," said Professor Cai.
Other lectures in the summer
During the summer, the Suzhou campus professors will participate in international conferences and present their research. They will be attending the Annual Conference of the Academy of Management (USA) and the Annual Conference of the British Academy of Management.
