Vincent Simard: a volleyball prodigy and environmentalist at heart
Ten volleyball players from the Sophia Antipolis campus team recently represented SKEMA at a competition that brought together 16 French business schools. Global BBA student Vincent Simard is one of the players in the team.
Our volleyball players advanced to the last stage of qualifications before the French business school cup volleyball finals, which will be held in Montpellier next April.
In closely fought matches, the SKEMA players put up strong resistance to capped teams. "There was a fantastic atmosphere between us all and we're proud to have taken SKEMA so far in the competition, playing against very high-quality opposing teams. Now we just need to make it a reality and bring the cup back to the campus," explains Vincent Simard, a third-year Global BBA student on the Sophia Antipolis campus who has been playing volleyball as a winger for 12 years.
A head full of ideas at 20
Vincent Simard is 20 and already has several plans. The young man intends to finish his BBA programme at the Stellenbosch campus and then work in South Africa. "I'm currently in the Global BBA programme and have chosen the sustainable development specialisation. After my final year in South Africa, I intend to remain on the continent and work in nature area management."
For indoor football, SKEMA Sophia Antipolis teams have also qualified for the final stages of the French business school cup.
