SKEMA Handball Teams Triumph at the Forvis Mazars Handball Cup
In the second edition of the Forvis Mazars Handball Cup, SKEMA Business School has once again claimed the champion's title, delivering an exceptional performance and remaining unbeaten throughout the tournament. In the prestigious setting of the Maison du Handball, SKEMA’s mixed team shone brightly, securing six consecutive victories.
Students from a variety of programmes (ESDHEM, BBA, PGE) and the Grand Paris and Lille campuses came together to capture the second edition of the Forvis Mazars Handball Cup, held in Paris at France’s iconic handball venue, the Maison du Handball. The mixed team dominated the group stage, defeating NEOMA Reims, Centrale Nantes, a team of Forvis Mazars employees, and ESTP, to finish at the top of the leaderboard.
In the semi-final, SKEMA clinched an impressive win over ESCP, paving the way to a tense final against ESTP, a team they had already faced in the group phase. "We’re very pleased with the result; some matches were particularly tight. The event was well-organised by Mazars, who hosted us excellently, offering workshops and a presentation about the firm," shared Maxime Taupin, the team’s goalkeeper and M2 MSc Global Chain Management and Procurement student. To reach this level, SKEMA’s Lille and Paris students train weekly under their coach, Nicolas Martin, a physical education instructor on the Lille campus.
On Course for the World University Championships
On 7 November, SKEMA’s handball team will compete in the World University Handball Championships in Rome. "This Forvis Mazars tournament has given us a real boost of confidence to aim for the university title," concludes the supply chain student.
