David Rey is a Professor at SKEMA Business School, in Sophia Antipolis. His main research interests lies in operations research, optimization, game theory, and artificial intelligence; as well as their applications to decision-making problems in transportation and logistics.

He was an Associate Professor at SKEMA Business School from 2021 to 2023. Before joining SKEMA, David was a Lecturer and a tenured Senior Lecturer in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney, Australia, from 2016 to 2021. Prior he held a postdoctoral position at the Research Centre for Integrated Transport Innovation (rCITI) at UNSW Sydney from 2013 to 2016.

David defended his PhD in Mathematics and Computer Science at the Université de Grenoble, France, in 2012. His thesis was conducted jointly at the LICIT laboratory within the French Institute of Science and Technology for Transport, Development and Networks (IFSTTAR) in Lyon and at the G-SCOP laboratory in Grenoble.

During his tenure at UNSW Sydney, he was awarded four Australian Research Council (ARC) grants, including one as lead Chief Investigator. He is currently a Chief Investigator of URBANE, a HORIZON European Commission funded project that explores last mile delivery solutions combining green automated vehicles and shared space utilisation models.
