HOPE Paris embarks on new humanitarian mission to Madagascar
The student humanitarian association HOPE Paris has committed to supporting children's education in Madagascar. They have planned a humanitarian trip this August to Antsirabe, located in the south of the capital Tananarive. The goal of this "Madagascar Mission for Education" mission is to support the schooling of Malagasy children through the construction of a school.
In partnership with the French association Scolarisation Madagascar, the students of HOPE Paris will take part in building a school in Antsirabe next summer. They will also meet the children, their parents, and participate in various activities aimed at promoting the importance of education. "This construction project aims to provide disadvantaged and disabled children in the region with access to education," explains Claire Laurent, a student in the Master in Management (PGE) programme at SKEMA. She adds, "Many Malagasy children face difficulties in accessing education, mainly due to malnutrition, long walks to school, and a lack of appropriate infrastructure." The initiative of HOPE Paris and its partners aims to address these challenges and improve educational conditions for children in Madagascar.
€10,000 already raised
To fund the construction of the school, the associations HOPE Paris and Scolarisation Madagascar have set up a solidarity fund via the HelloAsso platform. To date, €10,000 has already been collected. About ten students from various SKEMA programmes are actively participating in this project. In August, three of them will travel on-site to help build the school and carry out educational awareness activities among the local population. In addition to their hard work, the students hope to bring back school supplies for the children.
HOPE: a multi-campus association
Every year, the HOPE association, present on the campuses of Lille, Sophia Antipolis, Grand Paris, and Belo Horizonte, carries out humanitarian operations worldwide. In Belo Horizonte, the students created a life centre called "Tecendo a Vida", in collaboration with the Operaçao do Brasil association. In Cambodia, Vietnam and Senegal, the Lille branch of HOPE works towards facilitating access to education through donation of supplies and school equipment.
