On International Francophonie Day, 20 March 2023, CCI France Chine, in collaboration with the French Embassy in China, held the "Trophée des Talents" event, of which SKEMA Business School was the official academic partner.
The contest recognised and awarded French-learning winners from top Chinese universities. At the closing ceremony in Beijing, Matthieu Dumont, director of SKEMA’s Suzhou campus, and Bertrand Lortholary, the newly appointed Ambassador of France to China, presented the award to the first-prize winner Kefan Diao from Nanjing University. Jingjie Zhu from Beijing Foreign Studies University and Shihui Yang from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies claimed the second and third prizes, respectively.
This year, the 10th edition of the Trophée des Talents took place from January to March, within the celebration of "Le Mois de la Francophonie". During these three months, Chinese students worked hard to present their ideas in French on the theme “China Carbon Neutral 2060: What would be the role for the construction industry?”
Launched in 2013 by CCI France Chine, “Trophée des Talents” is a competition to inspire critical thinking and encourage French language learning among the younger generation in China, in the form of presentations and oral examinations.
Official partner of the initiative
SKEMA has been an official partner of the “Trophée des Talents” for four years, demonstrating its commitment to fostering critical thinking and language learning among the next generation of global leaders.
“The competition offers Chinese students a valuable opportunity to showcase their talents and present their analysis and critical thinking skills to the business world. Companies have the chance to observe and assess these students' abilities, which could lead to future recruitment. As a partner of this initiative, SKEMA is proud to support and encourage young minds to think creatively and critically,” said Matthieu Dumont.
