Raleigh: conference on AI for business education

SKEMA’s Raleigh campus will be hosting a conference on the topic “AI for Business Education” on 24 February, in the presence of Margherita Pagani, professor in Digital and Artificial Intelligence in Marketing at SKEMA, Patrice Houdayer, Director of Programmes, International Affairs and Student Life, and Research Triangle Park specialists from the tech industry.

​In a context of constant change, artificial intelligence is revolutionising the way companies work across the globe and facilitating new developments in business education. "With the advent of AI, there has been a paradigm shift in the business world. 

Understanding AI and data science is becoming a new transferable skill highly sought-after by employers. Nowadays, a business school graduate must be capable of using and applying this knowledge, irrespective of their field of expertise," explained Mohamed Desoky, Associate Dean of Academic Programmes on the Raleigh campus.


Recognised AI experts


At the beginning of the session, Professor Margherita Pagani will deliver a 30-minute keynote. Next on the agenda will be a discussion by a panel of experts composed of Seth Dobrin, Global Chief AI Officer at IBM; Igor Jablokov, CEO of PryonUdo Sglavo

Vice President of Analytics Research and Development at SAS Software; and Patrice Houdayer, Director of Programmes, International Affairs and Student Life at SKEMA. "The panelists will share their hands-on experience and highlight the qualities the students need to be able to work in the digital economy," added Mohamed Desoky.


A journalist as panel moderator


John A. Byrne, the editor-in-chief of the online magazine Poets&Quants (P&Q), which frequently publishes long-form articles about the impact of technology on higher education, will be moderating the conference.
