LanguagesOriginally from Macon, Georgia, USA, Jennifer Lucas has been working in education for almost 30 years in five different countries (USA, Germany, France, Switzerland, Bahrain). After double-majoring in French and English to obtain her BA with honors, Jennifer earned her MA in French literature from the University of Georgia while working as a Teaching Assistant. She then joined her French spouse in Germany where she coached executives in English. Subsequent moves in France (Paris and Colmar) gave her the chance to teach learners of all ages and in a variety of settings, including voice work for actors and actresses. Job opportunities abroad took her family first to Switzerland, where Jennifer was an English Lecturer at the multicultural Les Roches International School of Hotel Management, and then to the Kingdom of Bahrain, where she was an educational counselor for Sommet Education and a basketball and soccer coach for the girls’ teams at the Lycée Français de Bahreïn. She firmly believes that her professional cross-cultural experience abroad is what has shaped her as a global educator. Upon returning to France in 2018, Jennifer taught in various higher-level institutions including SKEMA, Cergy-Paris Université, and EMLV, before joining SKILS in August 2022 as a permanent English Lecturer. In addition to teaching, Jennifer is the multi-campus course manager for the spring PGE English course as well as the TOEFL and TOEIC advisor on the Paris campus.
