Adréna'Lille student club shines in ski world cup

Adréna'Lille, the school’s extreme sports association, recently dispatched a determined delegation of 15 students to represent SKEMA Business School at the GEM Altigliss Challenge, a student ski and snowboard world cup.

Highly motivated and keen to excel in this significant competition, the students joined Val d'Isère to participate in what is Europe's second largest student gathering. The event brought together 1,000 participants from 30 different nationalities for a week of interschool competitions. "We are extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to represent SKEMA at such a prestigious event!" acknowledges Lila Da Costa, head of the Grizzlies' ski delegation and a first-year student in the Master in Management (PGE) programme.

The students competed in traditional slalom, biathlon, snowshoe racing, and orienteering, with two teams registered in the Ski Challenge and one team in the Mountain Challenge.

Networking with high-level partners

Beyond the competition, this event served as an occasion for the students to get together and share enjoyable moments, while expanding their network. Edgar Fougerousse, a member of Adréna'Lille and a first-year PGE student, recounts, "I was surprised by the diversity of partners and stalls present throughout the week. I had a particularly enriching exchange with KPMG." Léa Monjardin, co-founder of the jewellery brand Clone Off and a first-year student in the Global BBA programme, took part in the dreaded Altistartup pitch in a cable car. "Even though the event has a somewhat unconventional format, it offers a unique opportunity to boost one's entrepreneurial project and engage with a jury recognised in this sector," she acknowledges.
