BBA students in Brazil organise an event on technology

Guest professionals from prominent companies in the technology market spoke at SKEMA Tech, an event organised by BBA students from SKEMA’s Belo Horizonte campus in Brazil.

As part of the Technology, Society & Environment course, taught by Prof. Igor Dias, students of the second-year BBA programme promoted an event on technology: SKEMA Tech. The challenge was to address the three pillars of SKEMA – innovation, entrepreneurship and technology – throughout the proposed activities.

Thus, SKEMA Tech was born – a morning of lectures for all students. The first edition had the special participation of several prominent professionals in the sector: Nathália Domingues (accessor to the executive coordination at CTIT), Daniel Gonzalez (CEO at HubSocial), Bruno Pimentel (head of development & innovation at Samarco) and Juliana Saliba (technology hunter/Startup at BiotechTown).

A common point in the presentations was the relationship between schools and companies and the way in which innovation is a consequence of this proximity.

The students organised everything, from the concept of the event to contacting the speakers, developing relevant skills for their professional life. In addition, at the end of each lecture, they were able to interact with the content with questions and comments. "SKEMA Tech is an event that brought several real examples of everything that was taught during the Technology, Society & Environment discipline," said Prof. Igor Dias.
