To strengthen communication and understanding between Chinese and French cultures and to provide new opportunities for exchange between students from both countries, the International Joint Audit Institute, jointly developed by SKEMA Business School and Nanjing Audit University (NAU), organised the "China-French Culture Week" last December.

Photo exhibition

This cultural exchange activity started with a photo exhibition on 6 decembre. The theme of this session was “France and French culture in my eyes” and guided by the “research-oriented” learning model. Topics ranged from French science and technology, China-France audit exchange, Beijing Winter Olympics and Paris Olympic Games, China-France exchange history and French business culture to French art and literature.

Series of Lectures on France

The first lecture was on classical French literature and was given by Professor Zhang Xinmu from Nanjing University, a nationally renowned expert on French literature. The next day, Olivier Perez, head of the Campus France centre in Shanghai, was invited to give a lecture entitled "Study in France" and the students were able to gain a better understanding of the French higher education system. In addition to French literature and education, a lecture entitled "French Culture and the Audit of the French Government" was organised, covering four aspects: overview of France, French wine and tourism, French etiquette, and the audit of the French government.

Cultural evening and New Year’s concert

The series of events ended with the opening ceremony of the "Young International Talent Class" and the New Year's Concert 2022. Speeches were given by the heads of the two schools, representatives of the professors and representatives of the students of the "Young International Talent Class" respectively.
Several students from SKEMA in France sent video messages, wishing the party to be a success and the friendship between China and France to continue. The great performances included English rap, fashion show, Chinese and Western instrument playing, Peking opera, etc. The chorus of Chinese and French songs brought the evening to a climax, with everyone present waving their glow sticks and singing along.
During the evening, the students of the International Joint Audit Institute bid farewell to the year 2021 and welcomed the new year.

This event marks the fruitful cooperation between NAU and SKEMA and the cultural exchange between China and France.
As Wenyu Dou, Academic Dean of SKEMA Business School China and Vice Dean of the International Joint Audit Institute, says, "Events like this help to broaden our students' horizons, deepen their understanding of French society and culture, and strengthen the affinity with the SKEMA brand.
