ESG and sustainable finance: New training for banking, finance professionals

In their advisory roles, experts in the banking and finance sectors must master the challenges and opportunities brought about by sustainable finance. The new training launched by SKEMA Business School and L'Ecole supérieure de la banque addresses these contemporary professional challenges.

SKEMA, recognised for its expertise in finance and sustainable finance, is launching two dedicated training pathways for banks in partnership with L'Ecole supérieure de la banque. From September 2023, professionals in the banking and finance sectors will have access to a new ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) training programme, leading to certification.

Through these two programmes, banking sector professionals will be able to deepen their understanding of the challenges of sustainable finance and its opportunities, grasp the regulation and taxonomy of ESG, and link CSR to their professions:

  • First programme: Advisor (3 days, interactive and remote, certificate upon completion): Understand and identify opportunities offered by sustainable finance, grasp the regulation and taxonomy of ESG for their implementation in their activities, identify the crucial challenges of sustainable investment, develop an advisory stance.

  • Second programme: Expert (9 days, face-to-face, certificate upon completion): Understand the challenges and requirements of energy and ecological transition, and those of CSR for their activities, analyse and integrate the environmental impact in the business valuation and facilitate decision making, manage the evolution of their portfolio based on best practices in asset management.

Mastering environmental, social, and governance commitments

These programmes, delivered in small groups, have been built around practical exercises and tools to facilitate appropriation and exchanges of good practices in the banking and finance sector. "A leading school that was among the first to launch a master's in sustainable finance, the , SKEMA is pleased to offer these two programmes in partnership with L'Ecole supérieure de la banque.

They meet the new needs of experts in the banking and finance sectors during this time of profound transition. Employees must now understand and integrate environmental, social and governance commitments to fulfil their advisory role in investment with their clients, and manage their asset portfolio well," said Pascale Viala, director of the Corporate Office at SKEMA.
