Glimpse: SKEMA launches new magazine to promote debate on major issues

SKEMA Business School is launching its new magazine: Glimpse! The first issue focuses on ESG (environment, social, and governance). The magazine is the first in a series to be published three times a year and aims to stimulate debate on organisational, managerial and change management issues. Each issue will highlight contemporary challenges through enriching testimonials from alumni and professionals, and in-depth analyses by professors.

To bolster the credibility and added value of the content offered, Glimpse relies on a rigorous methodology. For instance, for the ESG edition, ten professionals were interviewed. The key points from these interviews were analysed and cross-referenced with academic research. This analytical work enhances the relevance of the perspectives presented and provides a nuanced understanding of ESG challenges.

Browsing through the pages of this first issue of Glimpse promises an enriching experience! It includes unique insights of professionals and distinguished SKEMA alumni, working in major companies and key positions, who share their visions and strategies for tackling ESG challenges. These profiles, such as that of Arnaud Rolland (SKEMA 1994), vice-president of CSR at Lagardère Travel Retail, and Victor Genin (SKEMA 2003), vice-president of sustainable performance at Accor, offer readers concrete insights into the implementation of these criteria in the corporate world.

In addition to these alumni, the magazine offers, throughout its pages, insights from professionals in major corporations, such as Sandrine Summer (chief sustainability officer at Moët Hennessy) and Agathe Villain  - Ruckebush (head of CSR strategy at Leroy Merlin). These insights put the reality of ESG issues within transforming companies into perspective.

Research serving reality

In a skilful interplay, readers will also enjoy discovering the academic contributions of SKEMA’s faculty members. They provide rigorous academic analyses of sustainable practices and the implications of ESG criteria through case studies, without being oversimplified. These contributions help to better understand current trends in research and future developments in the field of sustainability. In the first issue, readers can notably read the insights of Arnaud Blandin, a lecturer-researcher in sustainability and an ESG expert at SKEMA.

International dimension

As a pure editorial product of SKEMA, Glimpse also includes an international dimension with contributions from professors and companies around the globe. These international perspectives highlight the importance and universality of ESG issues while showing how different regions of the world address these challenges in their own way.

Glimpse doesn't stop here. The next two editions are already on the way:

  • Glimpse, second edition: Titled "In progress: the organisation of a new kind", it focuses on the theme of gender diversity in the workplace.
  • Glimpse’s third edition will be dedicated to artificial intelligence.
