In this article, Francis Wolinski, the new director of the MSc Artificial Intelligence for Business Transformation, discusses his studies and his career so far - in both academia and industry.
Studies in AI and in computer science
I have an engineering degree from École des Ponts ParisTech, a master’s degree in artificial intelligence, and a PhD in computer science from Sorbonne University.
Academic and practitioner
During my career, I have worked for several industries on many data-driven or AI-based projects such as expert systems, text mining applications, real-time predictions, dataviz, audits, and bioinformatics. I also taught the Python language for data science in different academic contexts such as Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne university, emlyon business school, Télécom Paris, and as a professional trainer.
Importance of AI
I was delighted to join SKEMA Business School which emphasises the importance of artificial intelligence in education, by including AI courses in almost all its programmes, and in research, with the recent creation of the SKEMA Centre for Artificial Intelligence. I am also honoured to work with a brilliant team of colleagues and partners who master all aspects of digitalisation, ML and AI.
