Poline: two students reinvent jam flavours using vegetables

Margaux Millet, a SKEMA student in the MSc International Marketing and Business Development, and Marion Giannelli have launched Poline, a startup that aims to reinvent jams using vegetables.

The two students and friends were selected to take advantage of the vast communication campaign of the European Metropolis of Lille (MEL), launched as part of the "Pépites de la MEL" operation, in partnership with KissKissBankBank, PEPITES and the MEL.

Margaux Millet, a student in Master in Management (PGE) programme, is accompanied in this project by Marion Giannelli. The two students are incubated at SKEMA Ventures, SKEMA's glocal entrepreneurship incubator-accelerator, since September 2021. The entrepreneurial duo came up with the idea of organic vegetable jams made in France while watching their elders cook. "The idea came to me with Marion Giannelli, a childhood friend, when we saw our respective grandmothers preparing fruit and vegetable jams. In fact, Poline is a contraction of Paulette and Jacqueline, the names of our grandmothers," reveals Margaux Millet.

Reinvent jam and include it in your brunches

With Poline, the SKEMA student wants to reinvent jam and make it an original part of brunches. The entrepreneurs are aiming to market their products to hotels, restaurants and delicatessens, and work as much as possible with local and French products. "We want to popularise vegetable jam and become the experts. For the moment, this product is not promoted on store shelves. Production will be launched this summer, with pre-orders opening in September.
