SKEMA Centre for AI and Berkeley APEC Study Center to explore impact of AI
In a significant advance for international cooperation in artificial intelligence research, the Berkeley APEC Study Center and SKEMA Centre for Artificial Intelligence announce their collaboration. This unique and promising agreement paves the way for an in-depth exploration of the impact of AI on business, society, and regulations while enriching academic discourse through an interdisciplinary and cross-sectional approach.
The Berkeley APEC Study Center (BASC), led by Professor Vinod Aggarwal, and the SKEMA Centre for Artificial Intelligence (SCAI), directed by Professor Margherita Pagani, have signed a five-year renewable agreement.
This agreement aims to explore the impact of AI on business, society, and regulations, opening the door to a myriad of joint activities such as faculty, researcher and postdoc exchanges, student and graduate exchanges, and participation in academic seminars in France and the United States. Amid these developments, Vinod Aggarwal visited the facilities of SKEMA's Grand Paris campus, marking his interest in this promising synergy and the hybridisation of knowledge, which forms a key element of SKEMA's educational commitment.
Events planned in California
Margherita Pagani, director of the SKEMA Centre for Artificial Intelligence, expressed her enthusiasm for this cooperation: "We are thrilled with this collaboration with the Berkeley APEC Study Center, which opens up new horizons for research and development. The link between the two research centres will allow us to deepen our understanding of AI, how it is revolutionising industries, and making a lasting impact on society."
Vinod Aggarwal, director of the Berkeley APEC Study Center noted: "It is very exciting to have an opportunity to collaborate with the SKEMA Centre for Artificial Intelligence. We believe that the centre at SKEMA makes an ideal partner in view of its broad understanding of the impact of AI on business. SKEMA itself is a leading business school and we believe our joint collaboration will open up opportunities for us to advance our knowledge of key issues from a truly multidisciplinary perspective."
