SKEMA China: Annual Research Retreat held to enhance academic influence

On 24 June, SKEMA China campus virtually organised the full-day SKEMA Annual Research Retreat to promote knowledge sharing and build up an academic community. The event was co-organised by SKEMA, International Joint Audit Institute, Nanjing Audit University.

The research retreat focused on managing uncertainty in the post-COVID world, and aimed to keep SKEMA professors' knowledge fresh and bring new insights into the classroom.

Both full-time faculties (Dr. DOU Wenyu, Dr. XU Liang, Dr. CAI Yujie, and Dr. SU Yuxin) and part-time faculties (Dr. YANG Haoyi and Dr. GUO Huanxiu) presented their ongoing research projects, including downside risk, tax incentives, vertical environmental governance, condensed-content, workers' behaviors and working conditions, and pro-environmental volunteering.

Researchers share their research

Two keynote speakers, QI Yaxuan, Associate Professor of Finance from City University of Hong Kong, and FENG Juan, Hon Hai Chair Professor from Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School shared their latest research findings and discussed the presented academic papers with SKEMA professors. "SKEMA China has established contacts with renowned scholars around the world to enhance its academic influence," says Dr. SU Yuxin, one of the retreat organisers.

In the future, more academic events will be expected. As Prof. DOU Wenyu explains, "SKEMA China is committed to becoming an internationally-oriented knowledge engine on Chinese business."
