SKEMA student publishes magazine to promote Paris in USA

Ophélie Venturini, a student in the final year of SKEMA Business School’s Master in Management (PGE) programme on the Raleigh campus, has received the silver medal for the Ile-de-France region student-ambassador trophies. She designed an entire magazine to promote the city of Paris with students on the campus and beyond.

Ophélie Venturini, a SKEMA PGE and MSc International Business student, is among the 30 students rewarded with the Ile-de-France region student-ambassador trophies. Initially, 100 young Ile-de-France students who went abroad to study presented a project to the jury. "I think that what made a difference is that my proposal was an original artistic creation that was not a website or hosted on social media," explains Ophélie Venturini.

Her 40-page, English-language magazine features photos and articles about the capital's remarkable sites like the Palais du Luxembourg or Les Invalides. As they flip through the pages, readers will also find several recipes so they can make macarons or croissants, and a guide to "dressing like the French". "I am very proud to be an ambassador for my region and for France in the United States," she says.

"I draw on this project in my job interviews"

The PGE programme student confided that this experience has helped her grow. "I learnt a lot on both a personal and professional level, thanks to this project. I learnt to throw myself into a project and push it forward to where I wanted it to be. This required a lot of work, but I am really proud of the result. So I would like to thank SKEMA for its support with this project; the school really was of great help to me!" Ophélie now works as a recruitment consultant in Dallas.
