SKEMA USA hosts its second annual Student Appreciation Day

In April, the SKEMA US team planned a cheerful event with food, music and entertainment to celebrate all students during their last month on the Raleigh campus.

It was a beautiful, warm and sunny day, and students joyfully joined the celebration after their morning classes. The festivities began at 11:00 in the SKEMA Courtyard, where picnic blankets were set up on the lawn for students.

Dr Mohamed Desoky, SKEMA USA academic dean, and Isabelle Jauny, SKEMA student office director visiting from France, welcomed students, faculty, staff and partners with a warm speech, alongside SKEMA mascot Leon the SKAMELEON.

Following the speeches, the event continued with a lunch buffet, which included a burger bar, garden salad, cake and iced tea, as well as a SKEMA photo booth underneath a large balloon arch, corn hole, American football, and lots of other games and activities for students to enjoy.

This celebration was greatly appreciated, and allowed the SKEMA US community to enjoy a fun and relaxing day together before finals week and the end of the semester.

An opportunity to raise funds for Ukraine

Student Appreciation Day also provided an opportunity to raise funds for humanitarian aid in Ukraine. The SKEMA US team organised a raffle, and students had a chance to win one of twenty prizes by purchasing tickets. The winners were selected and announced during the event. Almost $400 will be donated to the Ukrainian Red Cross.
