US campus to welcome group of French “prépa” students for immersive summer programme
Image
Launched over 10 years ago as a joint initiative between SKEMA and the APHEC (association of teachers of preparatory classes), this yearly programme offers a rich cultural immersive experience to about 25 students from France. After a two-year break due to Covid-19, the programme is resuming this summer.
From June 27 to July 16, 2022, twenty-eight "prépa" students from around France will travel to Raleigh for an exciting three-week program. On the agenda: English workshops, tour of the prestigious NC State University, baseball game, visit of the Raleigh Courthouse, meetings with US students and professionals, conferences, museums, and many more activities and cultural visits in North Carolina, along with two weekend trips to Washington D.C. and Charlottesville (Virginia).
Prep for national competitive entrance exams
While it is a rather unique and fun experience, the programme also serves a more academic purpose and helps participants prepare for their upcoming "concours" (national competitive entrance exams). It provides them with the opportunity to improve their English, develop their communication skills in a multicultural environment, learn about a variety of topics related to US culture, history and geopolitics – and improve their CVs.
In parallel to this programme, for the very first time this year, SKEMA US will also welcome a group of 10 "prépa" teachers coming from France for a ten-day immersive cultural experience.
