Academic excellence: SKEMA Welcomes 14 New Faculty Members

SKEMA Business School is pleased to announce the arrival of 14 new faculty members for the autumn of 2024. With a balanced representation of 8 women and 6 men, the expertise of these new professors enhances the school's research and academic programmes, reinforcing SKEMA's commitment to academic excellence.

Excellence in Research
 

  • Ante Glavas, Professor of Sustainability at the Sophia Antipolis campus, is based at the SKEMA Centre for Sustainability Studies. He holds a PhD in Organisational Behaviour from Case Western Reserve University. Ante’s widely recognised research covers sustainability and social responsibility.
     
  • Benjamin Legros, Professor of Operations Management at the SKEMA Centre for Analytics and Management Science and the Digitalization Academy, is based at the Grand Paris campus. He specialises in real-time decision-making optimisation in stochastic environments, with applications in transport, healthcare, and service industries.
     
  • Azadeh Savoli, Associate Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the Grand Paris campus, joins the SKEMA Centre for Artificial Intelligence. Holding a PhD in Business Administration with a specialisation in Information Systems from HEC Montréal, her research examines the impact of AI on work practices and human-computer interaction.
     
  • Urszula Szczerbowicz, Associate Professor of Economics at the Grand Paris campus, is part of the SKEMA Centre for Global Risks. With a PhD from LUISS Guido Carli and Sciences Po, her research focuses on international monetary policies. She has previously worked for Banque de France and CEPII.
     
  • Anastasia Stathopoulou, Professor of Marketing at the Sophia Antipolis campus, joins the Marketing Interactions (MINT) research centre. She holds a PhD from Bayes Business School, City University London, and focuses on relationship marketing, especially within the luxury sector.
     
  • Jennifer Takhar, Associate Professor of Marketing at the Lille campus, joins the Marketing Interactions (MINT) research centre. She holds a PhD from Sorbonne Nouvelle University and explores the dynamics between biotechnology markets and consumers. Her research has addressed transhumanist consumption and digital health movements.
     
  • Annalisa Tonetto, Assistant Professor of Finance at the Lille campus, joins the Financial and Accounting Insights on Risk and Regulation (FAIRR) research centre and the Transformation Academy. She holds a PhD in Finance from EDHEC Business School and completed postdoctoral research at the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. Her work focuses on corporate finance, with particular interests in boards of directors, institutional ownership, and biodiversity risk management.
     
  • Dennis Verhoeven, Assistant Professor, joins the Knowledge Technology and Organization (KTO) research centre and the Innovation Academy, based at SKEMA's Lille campus. He holds a PhD from KU Leuven and has previously worked at the London School of Economics and Bocconi University. His research focuses on the efficient organisation of science and innovation, including the management of human capital and innovation related to environmental challenges.

New Leadership in Academic Programmes
 

  • Salma André, Director of the Mastère Spécialisé® Chef de Projet Intelligence Artificielle at the Grand Paris campus, holds a PhD from Lyon 3 University and has previously served as a research assistant at emlyon business school.
     
  • Sara Biglieri, Deputy Director of the Master in Management (PGE) programme at the Sophia Antipolis campus, is currently a PhD candidate at ESCP Paris. Her academic background includes sociology, entrepreneurship, and art.
     
  • Jack Fisher, Deputy Director of the Global BBA programme at the Lille campus, is a graduate of the University of Essex, specialising in modern languages and subtitling.
     
  • Bernadett Koles, Director of the Global Bachelor of Business Administration (Global BBA) programme, is based at the Sophia Antipolis campus. She holds doctorates in Marketing from Durham University Business School and in Human Development and Psychology from Harvard University.
     

Enhancing Teaching and Learning Experience

 

  • Fédi Kalai oversees the apprenticeship tracks in audit and management control (CGA) and digital marketing and data analysis (MDDA) across the Paris and Lille campuses. With prior experience at the University of Lille and Paris-Sorbonne, he brings both academic and practical expertise to his role.
     
  • Souhail Ramid, instructor and course cluster manager for the Global BBA programme, holds a double degree in Business Administration from Al Akhawayn University and a Master’s in Corporate Financial Management from SKEMA. His current DBA research focuses on mergers and acquisitions, integrated reporting, and sustainable finance.
