At just 20, Arthur de Pinho has wasted no time making his words count. Originally from Belo Horizonte in Brazil, he recently moved to SKEMA Business School’s Lille campus to continue his academic journey in the third year of the Global BBA programme. A multilingual poet, committed to innovation and environmental causes, and former president of SKEMA Consultoria Junior, he wears many hats with striking ease.

Arthur, you come from Brazil, more specifically from Belo Horizonte. What led you to choose SKEMA for your studies?

I’ve always wanted an international experience, and SKEMA offered exactly what I was looking for: academic rigour, a global outlook and, most importantly, a human approach to business. I began my studies on the Belo Horizonte campus, and I’m now discovering Lille. It’s a cultural shift I had been looking forward to, and one that’s proving extremely enriching in my case.

You’re very involved in student life. What roles do you hold at SKEMA?

As a student on the Global BBA programme, I’m currently the Brazilian Ambassador for the SKEMA Global Sustainability Committee, student representative on the Belo campus, founder and president of the student association The Multikultural Club, and former president of SKEMA Consultoria Junior (SKEMA Conseil), the campus’s junior enterprise, which develops projects for real clients in the local market.

You’ve been writing poetry in Portuguese since childhood and recently published your first collection. How do you balance writing with student life?

Writing is my favourite way of making sense of the world. Everything is connected. I write about love, friendship, joy, anxiety… all the emotions that have shaped my life since my teenage years. My book, Onde mais eu estaria se não fosse nas minhas palavras?, is a collection of poems written between the ages of 12 and 18. It explores these deep feelings and invites readers to reflect on their own. People often tell me my writing resonates with them – even though I wrote most of it years ago.

If you had to sum up your journey in one word?

Details. For me, nothing matters more than attention to detail. That’s where the real difference lies – and the magic too.

How do you see your future?

Whether it’s leading projects, running a business or developing creative innovations, I want to keep learning, creating and inspiring change – always with a sharp eye for detail.
