Belo Horizonte campus celebrates the graduation of its first Global BBA class

SKEMA Business School's Belo Horizonte campus hosted about 300 people on 30 March for the graduation ceremony of the first Brazilian class of the Global BBA. The event took place at the Unimed Theatre in Minas Tennis Club, in the presence of Alice Guilhon, dean and executive president of SKEMA Business School, Geneviève Poulingue, academic director of the Belo Horizonte campus, and Yan Grasselli, director of the Global BBA programme.

A day they won't forget! The Brazilian students of the first Global BBA class in Belo Horizonte received their degrees, which marked the end of their four-year academic journey in business administration.

Taught 100% in English, the programme includes two years of study in Brazil, followed by one or two years abroad. "March 30, 2023, marks a milestone in the history of SKEMA's Global BBA. In fact, besides the culmination of studies for the first cohort of students recruited directly in Brazil, this graduation ceremony confirms the global aspect of the BBA programme, thanks to the mutual recognition of both supervisory ministries. It's a global and unique programme since the content and the level of education, regardless of the campus, remain the same," said Yan Grasselli, director of SKEMA's Global BBA.

If the double degree option is chosen, the programme is recognised by the Brazilian Ministry of Education (Ministério da Educação) MEC and the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MESRI).

Training professionals ready to work in a global context

From the structure to the study programme, SKEMA focuses on innovation and disruptive knowledge. Students are immersed in an international environment from the beginning of the programme.

This immersion is intended to ultimately enable them to become professionals capable of working in Brazil and around the world, explained Geneviève Poulingue, academic director of the Belo Horizonte campus. "SKEMA's programmes are focused on skills and abilities.

They innovate in the pedagogical proposal, content, and structure of the study programme. Our intention is therefore to train professionals ready to work in a global and digital context, in a human way, sensitive to diversity and ethics. This is without neglecting the fundamental skills and abilities developed. We are very proud of this first group of students trained by SKEMA in Brazil!" she said.
