China campus welcomes new students for spring intake

SKEMA’s Suzhou campus is off to a great start this spring semester, welcoming its new students with a series of online orientation sessions. February 1, students were greeted by the campus team, who provided valuable insights into the facilities and services available there.

Leading the orientation was Matthieu Dumont, the campus director of SKEMA China, who gave a warm welcome speech to the students. He was joined by Wenyu Dou, academic dean of SKEMA China, Bo Deng, senior operations manager of SKEMA China, April Yang, career advisor from the Talent & Careers department, and Chali Zhou, manager of SKEMA Ventures, China, who introduced the structure of the Suzhou campus and its purpose of serving the students.

Lots of opportunities


“The whole team of SKEMA Suzhou extends a warm welcome to our new students for spring 2023. Your journey with us in China will offer with lots of opportunities, and I strongly encourage you to embrace each of them. On top of the knowledge, skills, and business support provided I do hope that you observe, discover and be curious of the outstanding country that China is in order to fulfil your potential. Suzhou, with its rich cultural heritage and thriving business ecosystem, is one of the most vibrant places to learn, grow, and make a difference for your future career,” said the campus director.

The first activity of the orientation week aimed to introduce students to the business ecosystem in China and familiarise them with the Suzhou campus faculty, the career services, and the entrepreneurship incubator-accelerator SKEMA Ventures. 

In the following days, students were also treated to an academic presentation, an introduction to the city of Suzhou, and a session on the cultural heritage of Suzhou, helping them adjust to their new surroundings.
