Hugo Salard: an alumnus who will help you save money

Hugo Salard, SKEMA (2015), is a graduate of the Master in Management (PGE) and the double degree in Management and Business Law. After a career as a data protection advisor, he founded Origame, an app that helps consumers manage all their subscriptions free of charge. His fintech start-up recently raised €600,000.

Since its creation in 2020, the Origame app has found its audience. At the last count, its creators had reached no fewer than 15,000 users. "A year ago, we were at 1,000 users. We now have 15,000, and our goal is 50,000 people by the end of 2022", says Hugo Salard, co-founder of Origame.

Successful fund raising

The Origame app scans your bank account (using a completely approved and secure process) to detect recurring expenses and runs a diagnosis of those that could be reduced. "The idea is to give people the possibility of managing their expenses, whether these are related to energy, the Internet or mobile phones, and to offer cheaper alternatives, via the use of a price comparison tool" explains the alumnus. The Origame recipe greatly interested the Pays de Loire Region, and the Nantes-based business angels and entrepreneurs Julien Chevalier and Benoit Vasseur, who invested €600,000 in the project.

A free service

If your internet subscription or your electricity bill are too expensive in terms of your consumption, Origame will suggest more interesting offers and will even deal with cancelling your old contract for you. This is a simple, practical and effective tip when you know how time-consuming this kind of procedure can be. "Our algorithm enables us to analyse expenses and suggest solutions that are more in line with real costs. On average, our users save €600 per year", stipulates Hugo Salard.

And SKEMA's role in all this?

Hugo Salard is open about it: whether it's finance, company accounting or management, he uses what he learned studying at SKEMA to run his company every day.
