SKEMA Business School provides tailored support for elite athletes, enabling them to balance their studies with a high-level sports career. Three questions for Jade Sersot, a member of the French national fencing team and a Master in Management (PGE) student, as she shares her experience

How does SKEMA support you in managing both your studies and your sports career?

SKEMA provides fully tailored support to meet the demands of high-level athletes. As a fencer, I can freely compete in tournaments while keeping up with my courses, either through recorded sessions or remote learning. The school also ensures that exam dates are adjusted to fit my competition schedule, allowing me to successfully balance both aspects of my life.

What does your training schedule look like?

I train between 20 and 25 hours per week. I am part of the French national team and won the 2023 European Championships in the U23 team category. For the 2024 Olympic Games, I was a reserve athlete for Team France.

What are your career plans after graduation?

After completing the Master in Management (PGE) programme, I plan to pursue a career in product marketing and data analysis, particularly in the luxury and high-end sectors. Since fencing is a sport that values experience and maturity, I intend to continue my athletic career until around the age of 31 or 32.
