MAC 2023: Student associations felicitated for their positive social impact initiatives

Held annually, the My Associative Concept (MAC) contest is organised by our junior entreprise SKEMA Conseil and the CASK (Confederation of SKEMA Associations). It highlights positive social projects managed by the student associations of SKEMA Business School.

All the projects presented share a common focus on corporate social responsibility (CSR). This year, the competition was particularly fierce, with eight associations shortlisted to present their projects in front of an expert jury and an audience of 250 students.

The student association SK'Enigma emerged as this year's winner. Led by its president Valentin Jouffret, a first-year master's student in the Master in Management (PGE) programme, the students conceived a day dedicated to raising awareness about disabilities, titled "Jeux-dys."

"Our day would consist of three parts: a customised escape game centred on the theme of disability, and a round table bringing together professionals in the field and people with disabilities," explains Valentin on LinkedIn. The SK'Enigma students pitched their project to a jury comprising Isabelle Jauny (director of SKEMA Transitions), Anne-Lise Mainet and Solène Lazaro (members of the SKEMA Alumni Transitions Club), and students on the Grand Paris campus. Julie Tiedrez (project manager for Partner Support at Réseau Alliances), Katrina Panchout (deputy director of the PGE programme at SKEMA), and Robin Menant (Business Developer at Lydia) were also part of the jury.

Following deliberation, the association won the first prize, a grant of €5,000, as well as a special prize from the Théâtre du Nord, a MAC partner, which includes customised support for the realisation of this day and the rental of a venue!

The second prize (€3,000) was awarded to the Sports Offices of the Grand Paris and Lille campuses for organising their charity bike race between the two campuses (the participants covered about 250 kilometres at the beginning of October 2023). The proceeds from the event were donated to Les Enfants de la Balle, an organisation aiming to create a community of inclusive sports clubs for children with disabilities.

HOPE association comes third

The third prize (€2,000) went to HOPE Paris, SKEMA's humanitarian student association, for its mission to Madagascar, organised last August. During this mission, a group of about ten students worked to improve the education of Malagasy children by building a school in Antsirabe. "The majority of Malagasy children face difficulties in accessing education, mainly due to malnutrition, long walks to school, and a lack of suitable infrastructure," said Claire Laurent, a student in the PGE programme on the Grand Paris campus and a participant in the project.
