Margherita Pagani appointed advisor to the European Economic and Social Committee
Margherita Pagani, a professor-researcher specialising in artificial intelligence and business, and the director of the SKEMA Centre for Artificial Intelligence (SCAI), has been appointed as an advisor to the European Economic and Social Committee – Consultive Commission on Industrial Change. It is the EU's advisory body that provides recommendations on a wide range of issues to the Commission, the Council, and the European Parliament.
A specialist in the impact of artificial intelligence on business practices, Margherita Pagani will advise the members of the committee charged with drafting a report on the impact of the metaverse and the virtual world on the industrial world.
"The focus of this work is to reflect on the challenges and opportunities opened by the virtual world and the metaverse for the European industry, and to point out critical issues that need to be addressed. For this, we are a team of several experts from the academic and research world," explains Margherita Pagani. She adds, "This appointment is a good opportunity to contribute to the European debate and showcase and disseminate the work being done at SKEMA on the theme of artificial intelligence and its implications for industry and business."
