Graduate's startup offers low-carbon travel

Launched on 17 March with a successful social media campaign, Mollow is no longer just an association aiming to "decarbonise tourism". The website, co-founded by Léo Malet, a graduate of SKEMA's Master in Management (PGE) programme, has crossed several significant milestones since its inception. A spotlight on the venture.

After a few months of rapid growth, Mollow, Léo Malet's brainchild for making travel greener, has launched a new version of its website, offering an improved user experience. Since its launch last March, Mollow has also established a partnership with SNCF Voyageurs and is now linked to the SNCF Connect app. This close collaboration, which is strengthening over time, enables users to plan their journey with access to a plethora of information, including how to rent an electric bike or notable places to visit, for a tailor-made train journey.

200 destinations and counting

The website now offers about 200 destinations, 30 of which are in France, (with over 100 accommodation recommendations, and more than 50 sports activity suggestions) departing from several major French cities and across the world, mainly in Europe. The goal remains the same: to offer low-carbon travel options, prioritising train transportation.

Financial stability

"The good news for us is that Alisée Pierrot (INSA Lyon), Chiara Pellas (CentraleSupélec engineer) and I will now be able to make a living from Mollow. It's an important milestone that attests to the viability and success of the project," says Léo Malet, SKEMA alumnus.

An average basket of 100 euros per customer

Mollow's website is currently receiving between 50,000 and 70,000 monthly visits. Its Instagram account, opened in April 2023, has seen its follower count soar from 1,000 to 22,500 in record time. The LinkedIn page is not far behind with 17,000 followers, and the newsletter already has 2,000 fans of low-carbon travel! Mollow's visitors order approximately 40,000 euros worth of train tickets via the website each month, which corresponds to an average basket of 100 euros per customer.
