Renovated SKEMA Suzhou campus unveiled: a blend of heritage and innovation

Following extensive renovation during the summer break, SKEMA’s Suzhou campus has emerged as a blend of Chinese artistry and contemporary design for students worldwide. The campus now stands as a testament to the integration of time-honoured aesthetics with modern functionality, providing international students with a unique and inspiring environment.

The newly renovated Suzhou campus offers a symphony of architectural epochs. The fusion of Chinese design elements with modern, sleek structures creates an atmosphere that bridges the gap between tradition and innovation. From the entrance to the study corners, every detail showcases the delicate balance of ancient charm and contemporary efficiency.

A home away from home

"The campus reminds me of the Grand Paris campus, with a touch of Chinese culture. I'm happy to find an atmosphere here that is like the campus in Paris, even though I'm in a different country," said Nicolas Henry, a new student on the campus.

"The details added to the campus really enhance its vibrance. Along with that, the colour scheme brings a certain warmth. A particular detail I liked is that the organisation of the rooms is similar to the Grand Paris campus, with lovely and comfortable working areas available on all floors. This makes it feel like home and lends a sense of familiarity," he added.

As the new academic year begins, SKEMA's Suzhou campus promises an enriching journey for students seeking a blend of heritage and modern outlook.

Matthieu Dumont, director of SKEMA China, shared his insights about the renovated campus. "This transformation represents more than just a physical renovation; it's a symbol of SKEMA's commitment to fostering global academic excellence. The Suzhou campus encapsulates the essence of 'glocal', where global and local elements harmonise to create an environment where students feel 'at home worldwide'. It's a place where they can experience global cultures while finding the comfort of their own surroundings."
