SKEMA 2024: A year of growth, recognition, and leadership
As the year draws to a close, it's time to pause and reflect on the incredible achievements and resilience of the SKEMA community.
From recognising the contributions of our alumni to society and celebrating the achievements of our students and faculty to ranking among some of the best educational institutions in the world, SKEMA Business School has continued to excel in 2024.
Here are some of the highlights of the year.
SKEMA Leadership Award: We had the pleasure of organising the first edition of the SKEMA Leadership Award on March 21. Our dean and executive president Alice Guilhon and Jean-Philippe Courtois (SKEMA alumnus - class of 1983, president and co-founder of Live for Good) presented the SKEMA Leadership Award 2024 to Mathilde Thomas (SKEMA 1994), co-founder of the popular cosmetics company Caudalie, in the presence of several alumni and young entrepreneurs of the school. Emphasising SKEMA’s identity: This year, SKEMA revealed its new brand film, which highlights the strengths of its global model and the dynamism of its community. The film is the essence of the school’s identity, showcasing the richness and diversity of our students, alumni, and current and future leaders who desire to positively impact the world. Arthur Serin carries the Olympic flame: Our Master in Management (PGE) student, Arthur Serin, was selected this year by the Paris City Hall to carry the Olympic flame for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in July. Last year, Arthur stood out for his courage after saving his neighbour from a fire, earning him a medal from the Prefect of Paris for acts of bravery and courage. Learn more.
GRONEN 2024 conference: SKEMA’s Grand Paris campus hosted the GRONEN 2024 conference this year under the guidance of a group of professors led by Eva Niesten, director of the SKEMA Centre for Sustainability Studies. The conference focused on key advancements in management and sustainable development and brought together over 170 researchers and alumni. Learn more.
Graduation Ceremony 2024: SKEMA Business School welcomed about 2,500 graduates and 5,000 guests this year for the Graduation Ceremony. The memorable event included an exceptional performance by SKEMA alumna Anthéa Guiost, a singer, songwriter, and digital marketing director and supervisor at GHOSTS Play Music. Learn more.
Back to school: It was great to have all our students back at our different campuses for the new academic year. Our Lille, Grand Paris, and Sophia Antipolis campuses welcomed over 4,500 new students in September. Learn more.
New faculty members: In September, 14 new faculty members joined SKEMA's academic family, enriching its research and programmes and reinforcing its commitment to educational excellence. "Our thought leadership is deeply rooted in the talents of our faculty, and we are thrilled to have our new colleagues on board!" said Raluca Sandu, dean of faculty. Learn more.
L'Etudiant ranking: SKEMA Business School ranked 5th in L'Etudiant's 2025 ranking of the best post-bac and post-prépa business schools, moving up one spot from last year. Among the 37 schools evaluated, ranked 1st for internationalisation (international exposure, number of accredited international partners, number of international students and professors) and 3rd for academic excellence (impact of research, accreditations, excellence of teaching staff and student-teacher ratio). Global Risks Meeting: SKEMA organised the second edition of the Global Risk Meetings this year on the premises of Bpifrance. The conference included insightful panel discussions on the geopolitical and economic approaches to explore the issues and consequences of the 2024 US presidential election. Learn more.
SKEMA wins Forvis Mazars Cup: SKEMA Business School emerged victorious in the Forvis Mazars Handball Cup for the second consecutive year! SKEMA’s mixed team secured six successive victories, remaining unbeaten throughout the tournament. Learn more.
Benjamin Ferré sets sail for the Vendée Globe: It had always been SKEMA alumnus Benjamin Ferré’s dream to participate in Vendée Globe, one of the toughest round-the-world yacht races in the world. The much-awaited moment arrived this November when the skipper set sail for the challenge. SKEMA is proud to sponsor Benjamin in this incredible adventure! Learn more.
FT European Business School Rankings: SKEMA Business School ranked 26th in the Financial Times ranking of the best European business schools. "Securing a position among the Top 30 European business schools is an outstanding achievement for SKEMA. It reflects the quality of our programmes, the dedication of our faculty, and the recognition of our strategic choices," said our dean, Alice Guilhon. Learn more.
