SKEMA and ITEEM launch a bachelor's degree to train future professionals in energy transition

​The "Management and Engineering Sciences" bachelor's programme, now available on Parcoursup, will open in Lille in September 2024. Co-designed by the French institute ITEEM, a joint venture between Centrale Lille and SKEMA Business School, it continues the collaboration between Centrale Lille and SKEMA since 2003. This collaboration had led to the creation of the ITEEM's five-year post-baccalaureate Engineer-Manager-Entrepreneur programme that now counts more than 667 graduates. The bachelor programme's objective is to train future professionals with both technical mastery and solid managerial skills, capable of working as middle managers with dual competencies, operational managers, logistics or production managers in an international context. The four-year ITEEM-SKEMA Bachelor delivers a degree equivalent to a bachelor's level. It is double-accredited by the Commission des Titres d'Ingénieur (CTI) and the Commission d'Evaluation des Formations et Diplômes de Gestion (CEFDG).

Years one, two, and four will take place on ITEEM's campus in Villeneuve d'Ascq. The third year must be completed internationally: in the first semester, students will have to attend classes at one of SKEMA's campuses of their choice (USA, Brazil or China); in the second semester, they need to complete an international corporate internship.

The graduates of this course will spend at least 12 months abroad and complete two six-month corporate internships.

Four years of study in France and abroad

Entirely taught in English, the Bachelor's in Management and Engineering Sciences combines managerial, scientific, and technical skills focused on digital transformation and energy transition. Each year of study balances scientific and management training.

The first year will focus on acquiring scientific foundations, skills in digital technology and renewable energies, and discovering the professional environment, the business world, and the fundamentals of management and CSR, with projects for organisation and self-awareness.

The second year will emphasise the refinement of skills acquired in the first year, sciences and data processing, as well as adaptation to the professional world, project management, development of soft skills, and management in technological innovation.

It is in the third year, necessarily international, that students will become familiar with data processing and essential concepts in artificial intelligence, as well as an introduction to ecological transition.

The fourth and final year will focus on advanced tools for energy transition and technological project management processes (optimisation, reporting...). It will conclude with a corporate internship, in France or abroad, leading to the defense of a final year dissertation, with the aim to apply the fundamental knowledge gained over the four years.

Two admiss​ion pathways

Two admission pathways are offered to candidates:

• For holders of a French baccalaureate: applications can be submitted on Parcoursup according to the timetable of the ministry platform. The selection includes the study of the academic record and a competition consisting of two written tests (mathematics for 1h30 mins and English for 30 mins) to be taken remotely on TestWe. Eligible candidates will then have to attend a 20-minute motivation interview in English, organised via video conference.

Successful candidates will receive an admission offer on Parcoursup on May 30, 2024.

• For holders of an international baccalaureate or equivalent, admissions will be open on the SKEMA website: www.skema-bs.fr. Candidates will have to take a specific competition with the same type of tests as the French pathway.

For the first intake 2024-2025, 32 places are open, with a goal of at least 20% international students. Tuition fees per year amount to €14,000.​
