SKEMA Brazil welcomes Emmanuel Lenain, Ambassador of France to Brazil

On 18 January, SKEMA’s Belo Horizonte campus had the honour of receiving Emmanuel Lenain, the Ambassador of France to Brazil.

Along with the French Consul General in Rio, Gérard Maréchal, the event brought together SKEMA's Master of Science students in an open meeting to discuss issues about geopolitics and the political and economic dynamics of Brazil.

During the meeting, Ambassador Lenain discussed the complexity of understanding these issues and the importance of addressing them. He also shared that with diplomatic relations between France and Brazil gaining prominence, the protection of the Amazon has emerged as a major concern. He emphasised the idea of working together at the international level to develop new models for sustainable development in the Amazon, while respecting Brazilian sovereignty.

When answering student's questions, the ambassador shared his vision about the important role of diplomacy in an increasingly fragmented world and highlighted its importance in defending national interests and promoting humanitarian and peace objectives.
