SKEMA career fair: 2,000 students meet recruiters on Paris campus

At the SKEMA career fair organised on 17 January on the Grand Paris campus, the Talent & Careers team welcomed students from SKEMA's three French campuses, from all levels and programmes. It gave our students an opportunity to interact with recruiters from across the world. Virginie Delisposti, head of corporate relations, SKEMA Talent & Careers, and Stéphanie Bianchi, director, Talent & Careers, talk about the success of this event.

The last SKEMA career fair was a grand success. Could you please tell us a bit about it?

We welcomed more than 2,000 students to the Grand Paris campus. Among them, we had 150 students from the Sophia Antipolis campus and 200 from the Lille campus, from the L3 to Master 2 levels. In addition, around 200 young SKEMA alumni were also present to meet recruiters. All the programmes were represented, from ESDHEM, Global BBA to the MS®. On the company side, we welcomed representatives from over 100 companies. They were spread out, based on the sector of activity, on the different floors of the campus.

How was the day organised?

Career consultants from the Talent and Careers team were present to review students' CVs and help them prepare for their interviews before meeting recruiters. Several conferences were held throughout the day. Business France held a conference on "Volontariat International en Entreprise (VIE)" and Parenthèse. The discussion revolved around work visas for international professionals, with a focus on the United States.

Was a similar event held for students at other campuses?

The Talent & Careers organised a Virtual Career Fair from 18 to 20 January. About 50 companies were present: 14 Chinese companies, five Brazilian companies, and the rest were French companies. About 450 students attended the online event. The challenge for the next edition of the Virtual Career Fair in 2024 is to position this event later in January to invite even more international companies (Chinese, Brazilian, American) and attract a greater number of French companies whose subsidiaries abroad are recruiting.

What was the feedback of participating companies and students after the event?

On the company side, our contacts appreciated the active participation of the attendees and the high quality of the CVs they received. They were also impressed with the preparation of the candidates during the interviews and praised their professionalism. In addition, our L3 students received some great feedback from recruiters, who took the time to discuss their career plans, the sectors, and the professions they represented. As for the students, they appreciated the opportunity to meet several companies in one place.

What are the plans for the next SKEMA Career Fairs?

On 31 January in Sophia Antipolis and on 6 February in Lille, Career Fairs will be held with companies representing the local employment area for students of all programmes.
