26 May, the French Chamber of Commerce in China (CCI France Chine) hosted its annual Gala in Shanghai, attracting over 800 entrepreneurs and partners from both countries. The theme of this year’s gala was “Embracing the ESG Transformation”. SKEMA Business School, a long-term member of the chamber, was given the opportunity to showcase its commitment to sustainable business practices and the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) transformation.

The gala served as a platform for fostering connections and promoting French companies in China. The event aimed to recognise companies that have implemented impactful projects and embraced the principles of environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and good governance.

SKEMA, known for its global business education and French roots, participated as a key member of the French Chamber of Commerce in China. The gala's theme resonated with SKEMA's values, highlighting the institution's dedication to sustainable practices, and fostering relationships within local and international business communities.

During the gala, Céline Gobeill, SKEMA's executive vice president - chief people & organisation officer, engaged in an interview conducted by the International Channel Shanghai (ICS).

“We have reinforced our partnership with Xi'an Jiaotong University, which today trains nearly hundreds of Chinese executive students to fit the needs of tomorrow's economy. We are pleased to have many international students who come to learn how to work in China on our programmes," she said.

Meaningful communication in professional settings

SKEMA's presence at the gala extended beyond the formalities, as Bingbing Tang, a two-year MSc in International Business student, had the honour of attending the event as a student representative of SKEMA. Her firsthand experience and insights were shared through an article, where she highlighted the significance of breaking the ice and fostering meaningful communication in professional settings.

SKEMA will continue its commitment to leveraging talent and expertise for the benefit of companies, and emphasised its pivotal role in providing high-quality and innovative students and executives to the job market. The school's active involvement in developing relationships with local and international partners further enhances its position as a valued contributor to the business landscape.
