SKEMA China showcases expertise in green and digital transition at China International Import Expo

On 8 November, SKEMA China was invited to attend the China International Economics and Technology Administration Summit (CIETAS) to share the school’s expertise in green and digital transition during the fifth China International Import Expo (CIIE), the world's first import-themed national-level expo hosted every year in Shanghai.

Matthieu Dumont, director of SKEMA China, delivered a keynote speech focusing on how to cultivate business talents for tomorrow's economy and deal with digital management at the summit on "Embracing Digital Age and Building a Net Zero Emissions Future".

Expertise in green and digital transition

Matthieu pointed out that SKEMA is on a new path of sustainable and inclusive development in China through "glocalisation", as the populous country is going through a major transformation from extensive development to green development and actively boosting the digital economy.

"Our school has various bachelor's and master's degree programmes regarding digitalisation and sustainability. This year, we pioneered the launch of our Global DBA in Sustainability with a unique focus on solving complex societal and organisational challenges through innovative and sustainable solutions," he added.

Calls for more partnerships and exchanges

As a parallel event organised under the framework of the CIIE, the CIETAS cemented ties between global communities and Chinese institutions and provided them with opportunities to communicate and cooperate in the "digital economy era".

On this occasion, Matthieu called for working closely with global partners and conducting more exchanges with Chinese companies in the context of uncertainties around the world.

High-level leaders from international institutions were present at the summit and gave speeches, including Hanmin Zhou, standing member of the National CPPCC, Xulong Dai, vice president of CIETA of China Ministry of Commerce, Péter Medgyessy, former prime minister of Hungary, Sachi Claringbould, deputy consul-general of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Shanghai, etc.

Last year, SKEMA China won the "2021 Education Partner Excellence Award" (EPE) for its outstanding practices in management education and management technology at the same summit.
